‘BIGGEST PRIORITIES’: Splash park in Bushey to be rebuilt in time for summer as part of £1m revamp

Published on: 12th April 2025   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

With summer just around the corner, Bushey residents will be able to enjoy a new splash park in the warmer weather.

Work is now underway to rebuild the splash park at King George Recreation Ground.

Crews have begun removing the old pumphouse, which has caused many faults and closures at the facility in recent years. It will be replaced with new, modern equipment.

The splashpad surface is also being replaced, and the water towers will be repainted and refurbished.

The project is set to be completed by the summer and is part of the £1million revamp of the park, with a new café and playground following next winter.

Funding has been supplied from developers’ levies.

Speaking to BUSHEYnews, Bushey St James Lib Dem councillor Chris Shenton said: “The constant failures of the old splash park caused so much frustration for children and parents, so it’s fantastic to see this work finally underway.

“King George is Bushey’s most precious asset and one of our council group’s biggest priorities.”
