BIG HIT: Croxley Muy Thai fighter aims to empower women following ‘dominant’ win

Published on: 12th January 2025   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

It takes a certain type of Muy Thai fighter to agree to a match with only four days’ notice, but Croxley sporting superstar Ellie Harber rose to the occasion.

Having spent the year winning world titles and being streamed globally on live TV, Ellie finished the year with yet another “dominant performance”.

Stepping in at the final hour, Ellie took on Lucy Wainwright after Carlotta Vaccari pulled out with an injury.

At Grand Central Hall in Liverpool on Saturday, December 21, Ellie secured the win via unanimous decision.

Ellie, who was on crutches two weeks before getting the call, had been unable to complete her usual rigorous routine in the lead up to the match.

Speaking to CROXLEYnews, Ellie shared: “It was a good fight and spontaneous, so I got to try fun moves I don’t normally do, with different elbows and kicks.”

Recently, Ellie began training in Liverpool, so she had the support of family and friends during the head-to-head last month.

She said: “Having that support behind you and hearing them shouting – that part of fighting definitely means a lot.”

When she isn’t busy securing victories, Ellie has begun personal training and coaching.

She said: “I think it is really important to empower women as sometimes when you walk into a gym, it’s full of men. My advice would be to go in and give it a go.

“It is good seeing younger kids come and train and learn something different. Watching them learn and have an interest is pretty cool.”
