A charity has thanked Sunnyside Church in Berkhamsted after they raised £3,050 to support young families.
Home-Start Hertfordshire (HSH) provides volunteer mentors for families struggling with postnatal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement, and many other issues. The mentors spend around two hours a week with the families, providing relevant support.
The fundraiser was part of Sunnyside Church’s Gift Day campaign which began on Sunday, September 29, and continued into October. Gift Day began at the church in 1984, as a replacement for its annual overseas missions sale.
In a post on X on Friday, December 20, HSH said: “Special thanks to the congregation at Sunnyside Church in Berkhamsted for raising funds for HSH!
“Your generosity will make a big difference to local families with young children who need our support.”
Some of the other charities the church raised funds for during its Gift Day campaign included Age UK Dacorum, DENS and Playskill.
