A new Kings Langley & Felden Ward could be introduced following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE).
Though residents will continue to be represented by two borough councillors, the proposal was made because Kings Langley is forecast to have 16 per cent fewer electors than the average for Dacorum Borough Council by 2030.
Kings Langley Ward councillor Alan Johnson said: “It should be pointed out that the proposals take no account of the development of 135 properties at Rectory Farm, the draft Local Plan proposals for 500 properties at Shendish, or the proposals for 150 properties at Hill Farm.
“There is no obvious argument for this proposal other than a numbers game, and with these proposed developments, it is deeply flawed.”
LGBCE wants to hear from residents and local organisations about the proposals. A 10-week consultation on the proposals is running until Monday, February 10.
Its recommendations will be published in June, which Parliament will then be asked to approve.
