Chipperfield Corinthians FC have been crowned the champions of the Herts County League Premier Division.
Around 200 people cheered on the team at their home stadium, Queen Street, on Saturday, April 26, marking a record number of supporters.
The club claimed a 2-0 victory over London Cheetahs in the final and secured the league win, the first time since 1978 that the Corinthians have achieved this “monumental accomplishment”.
This followed a successful season for the club, having won eight of their last nine games and drawn only once.
They demonstrated “a tremendous spirit” in two particular games by winning both matches despite being behind after 90 minutes.
President of the club Martyn Dicker shared with KINGSnews: “Big congratulations to the whole management team involved – manager Colin Wilson, assistant manager Tommy Garratt, and chairman Steve Hall.
“Also, a big thank you to our first team shirt sponsors Osteria, club sponsors CPC Finance, and shirt sponsors The Saracen’s Head – their support is greatly appreciated.”
Congratulations to all concerned.
A special mention to STEVE AND TOMMY who have dedicated many years of their life to club.
