The Chalfont St Peter Parish Council’s Big Biodiversity Battle (BBB) project to enhance, encourage and protect open spaces and biodiversity around the village is underway.
Residents, schools and local groups have been helping out keeping the village green and combat the environmental crisis. The BBB project is supported by a grant from the Denham, Gerrards Cross and The Chalfonts Community Board.
Councillor Anne Marie said: “Local community involvement is a key part of the project and we are delighted it has got off to a great start, with a number of local schools and groups enjoying the volunteer sessions. A few of the tasks undertaken so far include hedge laying, hazel coppicing, installing bat & bird boxes and works along the River Misbourne.”
Residents who have an interest in the outdoors can get involved by volunteering at the upcoming sessions. For more information visit www.chalfontstpeter-pc.gov.uk/2022/01/big-biodiversity-battle-project-2021-22/ or follow the Chalfont St Peter Parish Council Facebook page for upcoming dates.
