One of the largest jumble sales in the UK, organised by the 1st Northwood Scouts, will return next month.
The Annual Grand Jumble Sale is a much-loved event in the local area and attracts large queues of people looking for a bargain.
This year’s event is being held at the Scouting Centre on Northwood Way and starts at 2pm on Saturday, June 8.
Tim Shipman, leader of the Scout troop, says that the jumble sale has been going on for longer than most of the current leadership team can remember, with the first one having taken place some 40-odd years ago.
He added: “While we can’t confirm the event is the largest in the country, it is certainly believed to be one of the biggest. It takes months of planning and over a month of collections to make it happen.”
As usual, there will be a large assortment of recycled goods available for sale, all checked, tested and quality assured. This includes everything from books, clothes, glass and china, through to electrical goods, bicycles, lawn mowers and more.
