Police were called in Horseshoe Lane, Garston, and found a man who had sustained stab wounds.
Officers attended the scene on July 5 at 12.45pm after they received reports of an altercation involving four men.
The man who was stabbed was then taken to hospital, with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
The offenders, who were all described as white males wearing joggers, are believed to have left the scene in a vehicle, possibly a silver Volkswagen. Officers searched the area but they remain outstanding at this time.
It is believed that the victim and the offenders are known to each other.
Detective inspector Jason Finnegan said: “I understand this news will be concerning to residents, and I want to reassure them that we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.”
