Founded in 1966, the Radlett Art Society is celebrating six decades of fostering local art through exhibitions, workshops and demonstrations.
Since the start, the group has welcomed members, whether they are accomplished artists, interested in attending lectures and learning about art history, or going on day trips and holidays.
The Radlett Art Society’s annual summer exhibition for this year will be held at Village Institute, Watling Street, on Saturday, June 6, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, June 7, from 10am to 4pm, with both free entry and parking.
Society member Inga Armstrong said: “You can view our works of art created by local artists in a variety of mediums, watercolours, oils, acrylics, woodcuts and more. Many are for sale and there is always a large selection of cards to buy.”
There are opportunities to create your own art at workshops, which are held every Thursday afternoon at the Village Institute from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, from September to June. There are seven people per session, and materials must be brought in by yourself.
Outdoor painting sessions are held at various local locations in July and August. Lectures are held live and on Zoom every month.
