This year has been another successful one for Pinner Sketch Club, which hosted a two-week art exhibition at St John the Baptist Pinner Parish Church Hall last month.
The club showcased 170-plus pieces of artwork created by more than 60 artists. The mediums used included oil, acrylic, textile, mixed-media and sculpture.
The exhibition opened to the public on August 13, with a private viewing for artists taking place the day before, which proved to be a great success. Many artists made their first sale, including Tejal Kachalia with a handcrafted stained-glass garden sculpture.
There was also a ceremony with awards given out by portrait artist Mark Fennell.
The intense heatwave did not seem to deter any keen artists and art lovers from attending the exhibition, with visitors from all corners of the world including Singapore, Australia, South Korea and Germany.
Fran Mingard, treasurer of Pinner Sketch Club, said: “The exhibition was very successful and well received by the people in and around the local areas.”
Yoshie Murakami, who sold many pieces during the exhibition, said: “My paintings are atmospheric and semi-abstract, and I am very pleased that others enjoyed my artwork.”
