Police investigating an incident where a dog was dangerously out of control in Abbots Langley are appealing for witnesses and information. The incident occurred at around ten past midday on Friday, October 31, in Upper Highway. Two boys, one a teenager and the other aged five, were in the street when a German Shepherd, which was unaccompanied, approached them. The dog jumped up at the five year old boy causing scratch marks to his face and legs. The boys’ mother took the boys away and the dog briefly followed them before running away. PC Liam Green is investigating the incident and said: “Fortunately the young boy wasn’t seriously injured and only received slight cuts and bruising but understandably this was an upsetting incident. “We would like to identify where the dog came from and to whom it belongs as quickly as possible. As this happened during the middle of the day there may have been other people in the area. Anyone who remembers seeing the incident, or believes they know who the dog belongs to, should contact me as soon as possible.” Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact PC Green via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C2/14/2337. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
