Local artists have the chance to showcase their skills as part of a new mural project.
Amersham Town Council (ATC) is calling for aspiring creatives to paint a number of utility cabinets to brighten up the area as part of their Amersham in Bloom initiative.
By the summer, ATC aims to have painted 11 utility cabinets, based on the current permissions. Five of these will be Openreach cabinets, and six will be from Virgin Media.
Amersham in Bloom assistant Michelle Catanach said: “We like to bring colour to the community as well as raising environmental awareness. This is just a different way of adding colour and engaging with the community through art.”
The project is open to all ages but the council has encouraged people aged 16 to 24 to apply. To do so, email michellec@amersham-tc.gov.uk
Michelle added: “Young people don’t always have an outlet for their creativity so this is an opportunity to express their creativity and talent while doing something for the community.”
