MyAbbotsNews reporter Alex Pearson will be taking on the Tough Ten in October in aid of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) and is calling on readers’ help.
He’s aiming to raise £1,000 for EHAAT, which provides a vital emergency service to people in Herts, Essex and the surrounding area.
With only limited financial support from the government, fundraising is crucial to keep EHAAT going and so, as well as raising sponsorship from the race, Alex will be holding a quiz night at The Compasses on August 21 at 9pm.
Alex said: “We hear so much about the traditional emergency services so I thought EHAAT could really do with a boost especially as the service is available free of charge. Thanks to supporters, they have previously welcomed the first purchased helicopter into their fleet.
“Just £2 can buy a scalpel which could be used for emergency surgical procedures while £8 can buy a blood pressure cuff to monitor the status of a patient so I’m confident we can make a real difference.”
Alex said he hoped to see as many people as possible at the quiz.
He added: “It will be a great night with questions for everyone and I’ll also be holding a raffle with some great prizes. Feel free to get in touch if you’ve got any questions and I look forward to seeing you on the night.”
