Abbots Langley Primary School received a generous £1,000 donation from, property developers Barratts Homes.
One of the children’s parents works for Barratts Homes, bid for the school to receive this.
The school said the donation make a “huge difference” in the current economic climate and they now plans to use the money to celebrate its logo, which is a tree.
Headteacher Rebecca Negrello said: “We plan to celebrate our successes through a celebratory tree which will be painted in the school hall by an artist. It will signify how our pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally at school.
“The original school logo was based upon a Cedar of Lebanon tree, which was on the school grounds however was unfortunately damaged and no longer there. Our plan is to re plant another Cedar of Lebanon to replace the original and enjoy watching it grow.”
The tree was apparently hit by lightning and needed to be removed.
The painting will signify how its pupils grow academically, socially and emotionally at school. This will be a focal point during the school’s weekly celebratory assemblies.
