A St Albans student was airlifted to hospital on Wednesday, November 1.
Shortly after students arrived at Marlborough Science Academy in St Albans for the day, the school was locked down while emergency services – including an air ambulance – were on site and the boy was taken to hospital.
That morning, Ofsted officials were on the site for an inspection. It is not known whether inspectors remained on-site during the incident.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 8.40am to report a concern for welfare of a boy at the Marlborough Science Academy on Watling Street, St Albans. Officers along with the ambulance service attended the scene.
“The boy remains in hospital at this time.”
