A group of four keen golfers from Rickmansworth are challenging themselves to take part in a marathon day of golf to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in July.
Oliver Murray, Sean Deller, Ben Matchett and Aidan Josey will embark on four rounds of golf, the equivalent of 72 holes, from sunrise to sunset at Batchworth Park Golf Club in the town on July 23.
The four friends hope to reach their target of £2,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that supports people suffering from cancer and their families.
Oliver told RICKYNews: “My mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and it has gone on to spread to other parts of her body.
“Cancer affects us all in some way so there was an obvious appeal to raise money for this brilliant organisation. The money we raise will change the lives of people suffering from terminal cancer as well as their loved ones.”
Oliver, Sean, Ben and Aidan are members of Batchworth Park Golf Club and say they have been extremely supportive in accommodating the charity challenge.
The four are also involved with Watford based rugby club Fullerians and plan to host fundraising activities to help reach their target for Macmillian.
