A Watford kickboxing club have returned from a national tournament with incredible haul of 12 medals, including five golds.
San Shou Kuan (SSK), who train at The Dan Tien Performing Arts Studios, have triumphantly returned from the BCCMA National Qingda Championships, held on Saturday, November 4 in Rickmansworth.
The national event attracted 130 competitors aged six – 17 from clubs up and down the country.
SSK entered 12 athletes, a mix of local boys and girls, and every competitor made it on the winners podium In total SSK brought home five gold medals, one silver and six bronze, which placed them second overall in the league table.
Their instructors, Sifu David Nicholls and Nic Cumming said, “We were immensely proud of our athletes’ incredible effort and determination throughout a 12-hour long day of fierce competition. We would also like to thank our adult SSK members who volunteered their time to help the next generation.”
Annesha, 9, said, “It was really fun and a great opportunity for me to improve and mix with other children. I can’t wait to do it again!”
