A café popular amongst Watford FC fans will be closing its doors at the end of this month.
Domenic’s Cafe, located on Vicarage Road just a stone’s throw away from the stadium, has been popular amongst residents and football fans since 1983.
The café is set to close at the end of January with the owners sharing an emotional post on social media.
Taking to Twitter, members of the team Domenic, Nicky, Frank and Rita announced the news.

Domenic’s Cafe will be closing its doors at the end of January 2023, this has not been an easy decision to make.
“It’s been an honour to be part of Watford’s history and of this great community.
“We want to thank you all for your loyal custom over the years, the cafe has not only been a business or a place of work, it has been a place for people to become friends and for friends to become family. Once again Thank You. All the best from Domenic, Nicky, Frank, Rita.”
Following the announcement several users shared their love for the cafe.
One user wrote: “Stopping there was often part of our pre-math routine. Something I still do with my own son. It’s heartbreaking this link to my childhood is disappearing. Thanks to your family for the memories.”
Another who had been visiting the cafe for more than 20 years thanked the team.
They wrote: “We shall miss the wonderful home-cooked food. Match days won’t be the same. All the best for the future though and thanks for all the wonderful plates of egg and chips.”
