This year marks the centenary of the Hertfordshire Library Service and for the occasion, libraries across the county are celebrating books and reading.

As part of this, children’s author Terrie Chilvers visited Croxley Green Library on Saturday, March 15, to discuss her latest book.

Children then took part in a creative workshop where they had the chance to create their own superstar animals.

Croxley councillor Chris Lloyd was on the library user panel in the 1990s and is one of three generations of his family who have used the library.

Speaking to CROXLEYnews, cllr Lloyd said: “It is exciting that Hertfordshire Library Service is celebrating 100 years. I have many happy memories as a child and then as a parent visiting Croxley Green Library. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

“When the library burnt down, I was one of the campaigners pushing for it to be rebuilt. We have a building that we can be proud of as a community.”
