TRDC Chairman to run Watford 10k

Published on: 20th October 2017   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

The Chairman of Three Rivers Council has announced he is entering the Watford 10k race on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4..

Councillor Chris Lloyd has been running for a number of years but is particularly keen to take part in the Watford 10k as all proceeds from the event will be used by Watford Mencap to run their children’s centre which provides services for children and young people with learning disabilities.    He has visited the Centre several times during his term as Chairman and has chosen the charity as one of his special charities to support. Councillor Lloyd said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s Watford 10k. It’s always a great event and as there are both adult and children’s races, there is a great family atmosphere.   Fitting in training is a challenge given my council commitments but I’m determined to show my support for such a great cause as Watford Mencap.” Runners of all abilities are invited to take part in the 10k race and there are additional 1k and 3k races for younger athletes. Places are still available for runners to take part, and can be booked online at http://www.watford10k.org.uk/
