The organisers of the Abbots Langley Gardening Society’s Autumn Show are appealing for more entrants. Pam Cotton, a member of the society, contacted us to explain more. She said: “What a strange thing to say you might think. Well. Many children love to enter competitions and win and we are offering them the chance to do just that as, at present, we don’t have many children entering the classes in the Village Shows. Aged 4-7 or 8-12. Children love to pick flowers, we have a class just for that. What could be simpler? “The flowers have to be named but we can help there. What children don’t do colouring? They don’t even have to go outdoors to do colouring or painting except to pick a pebble from your garden or collect a picture from The Depot in the Village. Think how happy they will be to have their piece of art displayed for everyone to see not just on your wall! Photography. A Selfie or Creepy Crawly. Maybe your children love to cook. There is something for all. “Either to visit to see what is happening and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or to enter one of the many classes on offer. We have some classes that few people enter so there is a very good chance of you receiving a placement just for the want of taking a walk around your home or garden and cutting some flowers, or looking through your holiday photos. What could be simpler? “All the classes are listed in the Show Schedule which is available online, from The Depot or by ringing us (details below). To enter the competition you need to be a member of the Abbots Langley Gardening Society then your children and even grand children are eligible to enter. It’s so easy to join. Go on!!! Do it!!! Join in!!” The show is on September 9 from 2.30pm to 5pm at the Abbots Langley Community Centre. For more details telephone:- 01923 447281 Show schedule on our web site:- http://www.algs.org.uk
