Croxley Green residents have reported their concerns over the welfare of a German Shepherd dog on the Byewaters Estate whose barking can allegedly be heard across the area.
In a post on a community Facebook group, 140 people commented about their fears for the wellbeing of the animal, said to be a puppy, with some stating that they had contacted the RSPCA and the local dog warden to no avail.
Advice on the RSPCA’s website about what to do about barking dogs states: “Dogs bark for many reasons and may not necessarily be in distress. In the first instance, please contact your local authority and make a noise complaint. They will contact us if they have further welfare concerns.”
A spokesperson for Three Rivers District Council said: “The council has been contacted by two residents regarding the noise of a German Shepherd.
“Our animal welfare officer has visited and is providing advice to the owners, as well as speaking to those residents who have been in touch.”
The RSPCA has been contacted for comment.
