Two Three Rivers organisations have received grants as councillors across Hertfordshire have given £7,143 to local causes.
Croxley councillor Chris Lloyd has given £500 each to Bounce Back Exercise and Rickmansworth Cricket Club (RCC).
Bounce Back Exercise offers exercise classes for people who have been diagnosed with cancer and other long-term health conditions. The classes aim to help people return to their normal lives, and possibly return to work, by building their strength, fitness, balance and overall mobility.
Bounce Back sessions take place every Tuesday and Wednesday in Croxley, and on Monday and Wednesday in Hertford, and classes can also be accessed online.
Cllr Lloyd said: “I would like to support people with cancer and other long-term health conditions getting the chance to do exercise classes.”
The £500 granted to RCC will be used to dredge out the stream which runs alongside the children’s pitches, following a rainy season.
The funding should ensure that fewer of the youngsters’ games are postponed, allowing them to play more cricket over the course of the season.
Cllr Lloyd said: “This year, we have had above average rainfall. This has had a major impact on RCC. This grant is to help with measures to help drain the pitches.”
