A woman has been jailed for 48 weeks after breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) imposed following repeated shoplifting offences.
The CBO had barred Jenna Harris, 54, of Lincoln Drive, South Oxhey, from the Tesco Express shop on Prestwick Road. However, she was arrested on Thursday, December 5, having stolen from the store on Saturday, November 30.
Harris appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, January 3, and was sentenced to a total of 48 weeks in prison for three breaches of the CBO – two of the breaches related to previous offending which resulted in a suspended sentence, and this was re-activated following the most recent incident.
PC Marcus Zost, of the Three Rivers Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Shoplifting is something we continue to take seriously, and we’re working hard to target offenders and bring them before the courts.
“Local officers are also working with businesses and retailers to help prevent thefts from occurring the first place.”
