As a quote from Aesop states: “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
This was exemplified in a Rickmansworth supermarket on Thursday, November 21.
At 9.30am in the Tesco Express on Berry Lane, one man showed that kindness is part of the human condition when he paid for an elderly man’s shopping.
The man became distressed when he realised that his card was broken and was therefore unable to pay for his shopping.
Onlooker Danielle Louise Collins told RICKYnews: “I was about to pay but a young gentleman, without even knowing how much it was, tapped on his card and paid for the man’s things.
“The old man was really thankful. It was so lovely and caring.”
Danielle’s husband then paid for the young man’s shopping as a gesture of thanks for his kind deed.
After the incident, Danielle posted on a local Facebook page and said: “What a lovely gentleman in the Tesco close to William Penn – paying for the older man’s shopping because his card had broken and he couldn’t work it.
“To the man that paid, I hope you see this; you are a very, very wonderful human.”
Womderful indeed
