A woman on her way home from work was sprayed in the face by an unknown substance.
At 5.52pm on Tuesday, June 18 on Green Lane, Stanmore, the 45-year-old woman reported being assaulted and sprayed with a “noxious substance” by a man on a bicycle who then fled the scene.
A picture that has circulated on social media shows a white male in cycling gear holding a spray cannister towards the woman’s face.
It is reported she stopped to help a man who was allegedly being attacked when the attacker turned around and kicked, punched and sprayed substance at the woman.
The spray was confirmed to be non-corrosive, but the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution by the London Ambulance Service.
At this stage Met Police say there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
