A thankful resident is trying to find a woman who went to rescue her grandad after he had a fall in Leavesden Country Park.
Louise Murphy would like to get in touch with the woman who called an ambulance after her grandad, Tom Murphy, fell over at the park on June 23.
Tom, 86, of Stud Green was out for a walk with Louise’s daughter Poppy when he badly injured his face.
Louise said: “He completely split the top of his nose. There was lots of blood and Poppy obviously panicked and she called for help.
“A lady came over and she is the lady I am trying to trace. Poppy was terrified she was saying ‘Please don’t let my grandad die,’ the woman completely calmed her down.
“She helped Poppy figure out how to use my grandad’s phone so she could call for me and my auntie.
“The lovely lady looked after my grandad until the ambulance arrived and then waited with Poppy until I got there.
“When I arrived I was in a blind panic and only managed to briefly thank the lady before she left. I would love to be able to find her to thank her properly.
“Poppy tells me there were also two teenagers who went to meet the paramedics and showed them round to where my grandad had fallen, I would also like to thank them too.”
