Hatch End and Pinner residents will be delighted to hear that the threat to the free parking at Morrison’s car park has been abolished.
Residents were outraged to hear that Morrisons was planning to introduce parking restrictions, breaking a decades-old agreement with users of Harrow Arts Centre, Elliott Hall Medical Centre and other nearby facilities which allowed visitors to park at the supermarket for free.
Thanks to a petition from Hatch End councillor Matthew Goodwin-Freeman, which gained nearly 2,500 signatures, Morrisons’ decision to introduce parking restrictions has been halted.
Speaking to Pinnernews, cllr Goodwin-Freeman said: “We’ve done it! We’ve saved the free parking at Morrisons!
“Thank you so much to the thousands of residents who signed the petition. We’ve made sure businesses put residents first and listen to your voice. That’s what our administration does: it puts residents first and that’s what we’ve done!”
