The company responsible for the management of Rickmansworth’s water supply has said it will investigate after repeated flooding in one of the town’s roads.
Residents have shared their frustrations after a sewer drain, located at the intersection of The Clump and Valley Road, has reportedly repeatedly overflowed during the past eight weeks.
On Tuesday, December 12, during a torrential downpour, a portion of Valley Road suffered serious flooding. Cars were unable to get through, and the dirty water left a mess behind once it finally drained away.
Now, Thames Water, the utility company who covers water management and treatment for the majority of the South of England, have stated that they are looking into the situation.
A spokesperson said: “We received reports of flooding on Valley Road in Rickmansworth following the heavy rainfall on Tuesday, December 12.
“Our engineers will be investigating the cause over the coming days, and we are sorry for any disruption during this time.”
