MUSIC MAESTRO: Chorleywood’s first-ever Concert on the Common a ‘wonderful’ success

The first-ever Concert on the Common, which took place in Chorleywood last month, was such a success that it is hoped the event will become a regular feature in the village’s social calendar.

Organised by Chorleywood Parish Council (CPC) in association with Chorleywood Music, the stage was set on Saturday, June 8, for residents to enjoy a variety of performances.

These included children’s entertainer Aunt Julie, a collaboration between Chorleywood Community Choir and Brass Bandits, acoustic covers duo Tinlin, and then finally, the centrepiece of the concert, a selection of movie and musical songs by Chorleywood Orchestra.

With the day compered by AJK Radio and food and drink available to all attendees, many residents came along to enjoy the day out.

A spokesperson for CPC said: “The parish council was delighted to host the first Concert on the Common in conjunction with Chorleywood Music.

“Despite the weather, it proved to be a popular family event with wonderful music from talented local musicians.

“With it being the first time we have held this, we were thrilled with the positive feedback we received so will be looking to hold a similar event next summer.”
