Aldenham School has won the 2024 Codementum European Competition (CEC) for secondary and middle schools.
CEC’s website states that Aldenham School was up against 1,109 schools from across Europe and beat 2,628 classes to take the top spot in the secondary and middle school section of the event.
The competition, which saw 26,473 students write more than two million lines of code, took place from October 14 to 27.
To win, the school had to complete 20 coding challenges, consisting of basic knowledge, repeat loops, variables and arrays, in the quickest time.
In a post on Aldenham School’s Facebook page, the school said the success of their computer science students is “exciting”.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We are thrilled to announce that Aldenham School has won the 2024 Codementum European Competition!
“The hard work, skill, and dedication have brought Aldenham School to the forefront of coding excellence across Europe! Let’s celebrate their fantastic achievement and the pride they’ve brought to our school.”
