Watford Colosseum is set to make a major comeback in 2025, with new acts, performances and shows now being announced.
The venue has hosted several huge artists including The Who, Robbie Williams and Oasis, but closed in December 2020 for reconstruction.
On Tuesday, October 15, Watford Borough Council revealed that they have signed a contract with AEG Presents UK, a world-leading venue operator and concert promoter, to manage the newly refurbished venue when it reopens in 2025.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “This is great news for Watford. The project not only preserves Watford’s heritage but also creates job opportunities and supports local businesses.
“Through careful management, the council has managed to secure the future of the Colosseum, despite not yet receiving the £16million of Levelling Up Funding promised by the last government almost a year ago.”
The first act to confirm their appearance is jazz-funk band Level 42, who will be coming to the Colosseum on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as part of their World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour.
Bassist Mark King said: “As our amazing fans will know, World Machine marked a turning point in the band’s career, not least in the international success the album gave us.
“So, I am looking forward to seeing you all out there next Autumn when we can romp through all those songs again together.”
