Detectives have charged a man after a woman fell from a moving car in Bushey.
Police were called by a member of the public following reports that a woman had fallen from a BMW on Oundle Avenue at around 9.20pm on Wednesday, January 29.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. She remains in a critical condition having sustained multiple skull fractures.
Following extensive work by detectives, a man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Shaun Colvin, aged 34 and of Cotswold Avenue, Bushey, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, failing to stop following a road traffic collision, and failing to report a road traffic collision.
Detective Sergeant Mario Toumazou said: “Colvin has been remanded to prison ahead of his next court appearance. The suspect and victim are known to each other, and I hope this news reassures the public that we take reports of violence against women and girls seriously.”
Colvin will appear at St Albans Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on Monday, March 3.
