A late goal from Watford’s leading marksman, Odion Ighalo, earned the Hornets a home tie with Leeds United in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. The tie with the Championship outfit is scheduled to take place on February 20. Ighalo’s 89th minute winner against another Championship side, Nottingham Forest, means the Hornets are in the last 16 of the competition. Before the Nigerian’s introduction from the bench Watford lacked any real fire power as his usual strike partner, Troy Deeney, looked toothless and rarely threatened the home defence. Prior to the winner, Watford’s best chance fell to new signing Nordin Amrabat, whose volley was saved by Dorus de Vries in the Forest goal. With a replay looming, Ighalo capitalised on Forest’s failure to clear Allan Nyom’s cross when he slotted home from inside the area.
Wembley dream still alive as Ighalo continues to save the day
