As reported on the cover on July’s BusheyNews, Ronnie Shinkwin raised more than £1,500 for his boxing and football club by completing 10 challenges in as many days.

Bushey Rangers were delighted that one of their members decided to support them during lockdown and have already spent some of the money by making improvements to the club and its clubhouse.

The exact total in the end was £1,637, which was split halfway between the football club and the boxing club at Bushey Rangers, and a lot of the money has gone towards some sporting equipment, and some new tables and chairs.

Ronnie, 10, was desperate to help the Moatfield-based club during the pandemic and he set a target of at least £500 but managed to double that within a few days of setting up the fundraiser.

The club has been In Ronnie’s family for generations, and club chairman Robert Heney welcomed Ronnie’s hard work, which will be a huge boost.

He said: “Ronnie’s fundraising has been extremely beneficial for the club, it helps us out a great deal. We needed all the support we could get so this is fantastic.

“Everything was on hold due to the coronavirus, but we still had to keep the building running.”
