A Chorleywood based dad and his son have recently launched their first children’s book.
Allan Pattison and his son Zac have spent their lockdown time working on The Goofballs, a book that aims to encourage children to spend more time in nature.
Speaking to ChorleywoodNews, Allan said: “This was an idea that was very different, I’ve never written a book, although I’ve been in publishing for the last 30 years.
“My son and I had this idea while we were walking the dog in the local woods and then lockdown came and it was a great opportunity to make it happen, I said to my son are we going to do this or what? So we did it.”
Zac, 19, is a former student of St Clement Danes School, he created and designed the characters and his dad took care of the writing.
Allan continued: “Next thing we knew we got the book ready and printed and we are very happy with it so far.
“We are really excited, we feel like we created something that people – so far friends and family- really got into, especially those with children.
“We’ve decided we will be writing further books based on these characters. We may even try to do some animations and create a YouTube channel.”
