A Garston student competed at the World Cadets and Juniors Fencing Championships last month.
Hui Xin, who attends Parmiter’s School, came 19th out of more than 100 entrants in the cadet competition on April 2 and 3.
Tom Clarke, the school’s director of sport, said: “As a PE department, we are incredibly proud of Hui Xin and all her achievements. She is an extremely dedicated individual who always pushes herself to be the best version of herself.
“She balances her studies alongside her fencing, but also finds time to represent the school in a range of activities, including being a member of our Athlete Development Programme, which focuses on strength and conditioning.
“She really is a fantastic all-rounder and also an incredible human being!”
Parmiter’s School shared on Twitter: “Hui Xin continues to take the fencing world by storm, competing for GBR in the World Champs. She placed 19th out of more than 100 fencers. What an incredible achievement.”
