A pair of brothers and a resident from Pinner took part in runs to raise money for two international charities.
On Saturday, September 21, brothers Aran and Rajan ran the Vitality Westminster Mile for The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, a charity close to the pair’s hearts due to Aran’s severe nut allergy.
Before the event, Aran said: “We wanted to donate to the Natasha Allergy Foundation, as my parents told us about Natasha’s story, and the charity her parents set up. Her parents have worked so hard with the Prime Minister to change the law about labelling all ingredients in food so that people with allergies can eat out safely. Natasha’s parents are also doing lots of work developing new medicines for people with allergies.
“We also would like to thank Dr Adam Fox, an allergy doctor. We have learnt lots from his Instagram pages and have seen him working on TV, trying to get better care for people with allergies. When we run we, will be thinking of Natasha and all the others who have sadly lost their lives to allergies.”
Aran and Rajan have so far raised nearly £2,000.
Speaking to Pinner News, Alison said: “The boys would like to thank everyone for their support and donations and say they had lots of fun running the mile!”
Bhavin Gore followed in the brother’s footsteps, taking part in the 10k version of the event on Sunday, September 22, to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Despite never having run 10k before, Bhavin successfully completed the feat.
He said: “It really is a great cause and a great way to share with the Pinner community about this cause and what it is in case people want to get involved in the future!”
