WELL-BEING: Croxley church holds café events for those struggling with mental health

Published on: 15th July 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A church in Croxley is holding special events for those dealing with mental health issues and isolation.

Renew Croxley, which is held at the Croxley Green Baptist Church on Baldwins Lane every Thursday from 9.30am, offers a Christian approach to providing a good space for mental wellbeing, with their motto being ‘it’s ok to not be ok’.

As part of the wider Renew Wellbeing initiative, the meetings focus on being prayerful, present and in partnership with each other. Anyone is welcome to attend and is a safe haven for all, no matter how they are feeling.

People are encouraged to bring activities, for those who don’t, there will be colouring, crosswords, puzzles and other things to do. Alternatively, visitors can also come along for a chat and enjoy coffee and tea.

Quiet and meditative prayer sessions are also held at the sessions by the hosts, who offer a warm welcome to all attendees.

The friendly parish nurses, Cathy and Ruth, also pop their heads in most weeks to provide additional support to those who need it, as well as more specialised help from the statutory services.

To find out more about Renew Croxley, contact the Baptist church on 01923 710780, or for further information about the wider Renew Wellbeing programme, visit their website.
