Watford FC’s first signing of the summer transfer window has said he is very excited to join the club.
29-year-old former West Bromwich Albion defender, Craig Dawson, joined the club for a fee believed to be around £5.5million.
The centre-back, who can play right back also, has signed a four year deal keeping him at Vicarage Road until the summer of 2023.
Speaking to his former colleague, Ben Foster, on the clubs website, Craig said it was a great opportunity which he took straight away.
He said: “Yeah it’s going to be a new challenge and one I am very excited to be here. It happened very quickly, there wasn’t too much time to ponder. It was a great opportunity and one I took straight away.
“Hopefully we can improve on that (last season) as a group and as a squad. It is an exciting squad and one which is a brilliant premier league team.”
The English centre back played 43 matches in the Championship last season scoring three goals and getting two assists.
Dawson brings with him a wealth of experience as he has racked up more than 150 Premier League appearances in his nine year spell at West Brom.
