St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood is set to install 200 solar panels, after their proposal was approved by Three Rivers District Council.
In July this year, the school submitted an application to install 160 panels on one area of the pitched roof at its site and 40 on another section that is part of the same classroom building in July.
After no objection from Chorleywood Parish Council, the application was approved on September 27.
Dominic Richards, COO, Danes Educational Trust told Chorleywood News: “I am excited to be installing solar panels at St Clement Danes School as part of our heat decarbonisation plans and sustainability initiatives.
“This solar installation is part of a wider project which will also see some gas boilers upgraded to more sustainable Air Source Heat Pumps and is part funded by a successful application to the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme. Future sustainability work planned for the school is an upgrade of lighting to more energy efficient LED.and similar sustainable projects are planned for all trust schools.”
