Watford raised YouTube star holds HUGE boxing event

Watford-raised YouTuber KSI took on America’s Logan Paul in a much-hyped boxing match – that ended in a draw.

The fight, which took place at the Manchester Arena on August 25 in front of over 15,000 fans, was streamed by over 800,000 viewers on YouTube, who each paid £7.50 to watch it live.

Logan Paul, who boasts 18.3million subscribers on YouTube, dominated KSI (19.4 million subscribers) for the first two rounds of the six-round brawl, before KSI found his feet and landed some solid right hooks in later rounds.

Both internet stars celebrated passionately at the final bell, only to fall silent when the fight was ruled a draw by the judges.

Boos echoed across the arena, but the pair were quick to hype up a rematch that will most likely take place in America next year.

Describing the event as “One of the best days of my life” in an interview with BBC 5 Live, KSI added:

“I think the only annoying thing is that I didn’t get the win, after those first two rounds everyone had their hearts in their mouths… but I found the courage and found the heart to push on and never give up in defeat.”

KSI, real name Olajide “JJ” Olatunji, also dismissed rumours of the match being fixed to set up a rematch, saying:

“You have to remember, I’m the one training, I’m the one that’s got to go through all this stuff again, and I’m just there like ‘are you serious?’ I literally did enough (to win).”
