A man from Watford was sentenced today to seven years in prison at Harrow Crown Court for a number of sexual offences. Fifty-four year old Steven Godden from Vicarage Road was found guilty on September 22 of 12 counts of sexual activity with a girl aged between 11 and 15. The offences occurred in Watford between 2000 and 2005. Detective Constable Lee Hill from the Safeguarding Adults from Abuse unit said: “Steven Godden is a sexual predator who targeted his young victim over a number of years. No-one should suffer this type of abuse and in Hertfordshire we have a number of dedicated teams working to protect vulnerable people and investigate these types of cases. “I hope this sentence will give others who have suffered similar abuse the courage to contact police so that we can bring offenders to justice.”
