WATFORD Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic was delighted with his team – and for the fans – after the Hornets secured a third consecutive victory having played the second 45 minutes with just 10 men. “I am very pleased with the players. It is a performance to be proud of, that is for certain,” said the Serbian. “In different ways, we have won the last three matches and each of these three points makes me pleased for a number of reasons. “We really played like a team in the second half. We had to; we didn’t start in the game especially very well and we weren’t strong enough in our challenges. “Now I see the belief really growing within the team and within the supporters too – who I must say a massive thank you to for their action today. “They could see the team was suffering with their efforts, and I think they played a big part in helping the players along during the second half – especially in the last 15 minutes, when things were really tough for the reason which is obvious because of one less on the pitch.” Jokanovic was out of his technical area a number of times, both encouraging and cajoling his players and remonstrating with some of the officials’ decisions. But his views were more reserved after full-time. “The referee must make his decisions and they are the ones we live with. “I thought, for this English Championship, it looked a bit soft for Gaby [Angella] to be sent out of the pitch, but the referee will always have his reasons. “What I would prefer to talk about is the way the players reacted to the situation and the way they started the second half because these moments meant that we could believe that we should the match.”
