Watford coach Slavisa Jokanovic was delighted with the way his side fought back against Milllwall at Vicarage Road after the Lions took an early lead. The south Londoners were stronger early on in the game and took the lead via Martyn Woolford after 12 minutes Watford eventually re-grouped and Jokanovic was pleased as his side came from behind to eventually win 3-1. “I am very happy, especially for the reaction of my team at the beginning of the game after they scored the goal,” explained Jokanovic. “After their goal we tried to find our way of improving and we got a good reaction and went on to win the game.” A nicely worked goal from a set-piece saw Matej Vydra bag his seventh strike of the campaign. Daniel Tozser doubled the lead with a free-kick before Gianni Munari’s second goal for the club saw off the Lions’ challenge. Jokanovic says he was pleased to see some training ground work coming to fruition and acknowledged his pride in seeing his players respecting the League they’re in. “We tried to have the same plan as in training with set-pieces. My players made some brilliant actions in this respect, set-pieces are very important, especially in this country. “The characteristics of my squad is to not necessarily be physical in matches, but we must understand where we are, we must come and catch the control of games, we must respect where we are and we must adapt further to this competition.” Before kick-off the minute’s silence was well-respected by the 17,000 strong Vicarage Road crowd and Jokanovic praised all those involved for The Rookery display. “It is an important day in England,” added Jokanovic. “I’m proud of this day, the display was spectacular.”
