People in Watford are being warned not to hand over personal details on the phone to callers who claim to work for Watford Borough Council.
The caller tells the resident they have credit on their account and asks for debit card details.
A WBC spokesman said: “We are advising Watford residents to be wary and to never give or confirm any personal details over the phone
