A 26-year-old woman from Bushey is over the moon to have made the finals of Miss England and hopes to raise money for charity and awareness for mental health through the competition.
Paige Ashton won the semi-final Miss Popularity heat last month and will now go on to compete for the ultimate crown in August.
Paige said: “I definitely had nerves, but I went there with the mindset of winning. When my name was read out I was both happy and emotional.”
There are 10 optional rounds in preparation for the Miss England Final on August 27 including Sport and Explore the Nation. Paige said she is most looking forward to creating an Eco Dress for the Plastfree Eco Queen round and the Bare Face Top Model where the finalists take a photo with no makeup on.
Paige is going into schools locally to talk about mental wellbeing plus using her social media to bring greater awareness on mental health issues and break the stigma.
She added: “I am still running my raffle fundraiser and working on an in-person fundraiser for Beauty with a Purpose, a charity that helps disadvantaged children around the world.” To get involved in the fundraiser head to uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PaigeAshton_MissEngland
