Councillor Colleen Sullivan, who represents Hillingdon East Ward, has been chosen as the new Mayor for Hillingdon Council.
Mayor Sullivan takes over from councillor Shehryar Ahmad-Wallana in the ceremonial role. She will hold the role for a year, wearing the iconic robes and representing Hillingdon Council at a variety of events across the borough.
Speaking of her appointment, Mayor Sullivan said: “I am excited about serving the community as the Mayor of Hillingdon. I am looking forward to a busy and exciting year ahead full of wonderful, vibrant events.
“My aim during my mayoral year is to form new friendships and partnerships, and to highlight the fascinating history of this great borough and how we can all play a part in its past and its future.”
As a resident of the borough for more than 40 years, Mayor Sullivan was first elected as a councillor back in 2020. She is also an avid fan of rugby, cricket, football and motor racing.
In her term, Mayor Sullivan has chosen two local charities to support: Radio Hillingdon and Royal Brompton & Harefield Arts (Hillingdon branch).
