VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Concerned citizens asked to join Northwood police ward panel

Published on: 20th September 2022   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Volunteers concerned about policing in the Northwood and Ruislip area are wanted by the area’s Police Ward Panel.

Police Ward Panels are groups made up of ordinary citizens that meet with an area’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and Hillingdon councillors, with all groups providing feedback on what the police have doing as of late, and what concerns residents might have.

In the group’s last quarterly meeting in June, which took place at St John’s Church on Hallowell Road, the panel discussed traffic chaos on Maxwell Road, theft from local businesses and young people racing on the Old High Street.

A spokesperson for the ward panel stated: “Your ward panel is only as good as the assistance we get from our residents. We note that some residents write about crimes on Nextdoor.co.uk. However, unless these are reported to our SNT, these cannot be followed up.

“So please ensure you ring 101 to report such crimes, and in an emergency, dial 999.”

To find out more or outline your interest in volunteering, please email the chairman of the panel at police@northwoodresidents.co.uk or call 01923 828085.
