A popular Christmas community project is set to go ahead this year bringing joy to older people in the Croxley community and beyond.
Violet’s Gift, a charity project which was set up in 2015, works to provide gift donations to people in care homes with no loved ones.
Resident, Emily Benner, started the charity when her grandma moved into care and noticed how many people didn’t have loved ones including her grandma’s friend Violet.
Now after the sad passing of her grandma, Emily wants to make this year the biggest yet, with residents at 53 care homes receiving gifts last year.
She said: “People can drop presents off in the Croxley Parish Council office until the end of November, but people can also help wrap presents, or deliver the presents.
“We are still following COVID safety rules so you have to volunteer in advance. We are grateful for any gifts and time people can give.”
For the second year running, Violet’s Gift will be working with registered charity, Small Acts of Kindness, to help reach as many people as possible.
